To access the full benefits of the THAIMAI application and the PICME system, mothers in Tamil Nadu must complete a secure facial authentication. This process ensures that your health records are protected and accurately linked to your RCH ID. Follow these 15 steps to complete your setup.
1. Download the THAIMAI Application

Begin by downloading the official THAIMAI app from the Google Play Store. This is your primary dashboard for tracking pregnancy and infant health milestones.

2. Install the AadhaarFaceRD App

For the face scan to work, you must also install the AadhaarFaceRD app. This is a background service developed by UIDAI that provides secure facial recognition technology.
3. Activate Location Services (GPS)
Before opening the apps, go to your phone settings and Turn On GPS/Location. The system requires your location to verify that the authentication is happening within the authorized service area.
4. Launch the THAIMAI App

Open the THAIMAI app on your smartphone. Ensure you have a stable internet connection (4G/5G or Wi-Fi) to avoid errors during the login phase.
5. Select the Mother Login Option

On the main landing page, locate and click the button labeled Mother Login. This will take you to the secure portal for registered beneficiaries.
6. Enter RCH ID and Date of Birth

Input your 12-digit RCH ID and your Date of Birth (DOB) as recorded in the PICME system. Ensure the details match your RCH card exactly.
7. Verify Your Personal Details

After logging in, your profile details will appear on the screen. Carefully verify your name and health center info to ensure you are logged into the correct account.
8. Access Face ID Verification
On your dashboard, look for the Face ID Verification menu. This is the mandatory step to activate all digital features of the app.
9. Click the Take Photo Button

Once you enter the verification section, click the Take Photo button. This prepares the system to launch the secure camera interface.
10. Click the Proceed Button

Tap Proceed to trigger the AadhaarFaceRD service. Note: If the camera fails to open, go back and ensure the AadhaarFaceRD app is properly installed on your device.
11. Switch to the Correct Camera

If the app defaults to the wrong camera, click the Refresh/Switch icon on the screen to toggle between the front and rear cameras until you see your face.
12. Frame Your Full Face

Position your phone at eye level. Ensure your entire face fits within the on-screen guide. Do not hide your forehead or chin, and avoid wearing masks or large glasses.
13. Optimize Lighting Conditions
Ensure you are in a well-lit room. Avoid standing with a window behind you (backlighting), as this makes your face appear dark and causes verification to fail.
14. The 3-Second Blink Technique
Once your face is correctly framed and the frame turns green, blink your eyes slowly (once every 3 seconds). This proves "liveness" to the system and completes the capture.
15. Share Verification Number with VHN
Upon successful verification, a Verification Number will be generated on your screen. Note this down or take a screenshot and share it with your Village Health Nurse (VHN) to finalize your records.
By completing these steps, you secure your digital health identity and ensure that you receive timely alerts for check-ups, vaccinations, and government maternal benefits.
