Several schemes have been launched to provide financial assistance, nutritional support, and healthcare services. Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Maternity Benefit Scheme (Tamil Nadu)
A financial assistance scheme by the Tamil Nadu government to poor pregnant women to cover nutritional needs and compensate for wage loss.
Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY)
A maternity benefit program that provides cash incentives to pregnant women and lactating mothers for the first living child of the family. The cash incentive of ₹5,000 is provided in three installments.
Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY)
A safe motherhood intervention under the National Health Mission (NHM). It is being implemented with the objective of reducing maternal and infant mortality by promoting institutional delivery among pregnant women.
Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS)
Provides food, preschool education, primary healthcare, immunization, health check-up, and referral services to children under 6 years of age and their mothers.
